Building a Static Page with Hybrid News Theme in Wordpress
?reate a site with a static page and more with the Hybrid News Theme.
The Hybrid Theme, developed originally by Justin Tadlock, opens doors to a variety of possible layouts - all easy to change and to adapt through child themes. In this article, Linda shows how to create a site with a static page and more with the Hybrid News Theme.
Conclusion
Yo may realize at this point that the Hybrid News Theme option is viable only if you want to update your site on a regular basis – even though it has a static page. And, you also know at this point that the Hybrid News Theme will not work fully unless you have content. If you prefer – like my current client – to have a static page that does not need to be updated on a regular basis. You then can revert back to the original Hybrid Theme, which you already have uploaded on your WP dashboard.
If you are using other themes, you may not have these options available to you. Are you jealous yet? If so, then head on over to Hybrid Theme Club and snag your free membership. I do want you to note that I am not receiving any monetary compensation for my devotion to Justin's themes. I've just learned over the years that it is difficult to find a hardy theme that can keep up with WP upgrades, and that is flexible enough to provide a variety of options for design and layout. Hybrid provides an answer to those issues.
In the next article, I'll show you how to make a child theme from the Hybrid News Theme, although I have covered how to create a child theme already in the article, WordPress Themes and Child Themes. I will touch on this again topic, though, to make sure that you have no further questions about how to build a child theme from just about any WP theme. Additionally, by building this child theme, you also will learn how to change the stylesheets for the Hybrid News Theme – thus, changing the look of your site.
