I have a general question. I think I saw some solution for this before but can not find it again.
Maybe this is a general problem:
PPU 3 works fine with me here. And I do not use database, just file upload with default folder option.But now - for security issues - I want to use a folder outside my domain root as "default upload folder".
Is there a possibility to do this?

yes, maybe one folder up or even better in another folder of the web server. E.g. if I have a web server that I can also handle by FTP, I ccan have a folder like "root/domainfolder/" where the domain name points to and the web pages are located and e.g. a folder like "root/uploadfolder/" that I want to use as the "default folder" for PPU - main idea is to have the uploaded files outside the domain directory so they can not be accessed by direct links to the files.

I am not sure your web hosting will allow you to do this. You can try setting the path to: "../uploadfolder/" but i am almost 100% sure you won't have the right permissions to do this.

Hello, this is what I tried before, but even on my local test server with XAMPP this does not work. Any other ideas for this issue will be very welcome (thought also about something like a htaccess-protected folder) or how can I prevent from files being downloaded by direct links?
