And another wish...
The ability to mark files in the "Site Files" window that should *<b>not</b>* be uploaded. As a flash developer, I often have my .fla sources in the html directory to test the .swf movies in situ with the html pages. Since I don't want to upload the .fla files to my live sites, a simple option to "skip all .fla (or whatever) files for upload" would be great.

No date has yet been released. Only recently various seminars and discussions were held in the US to discover what some developers wanted, but nobody knows yet if a full feature list has yet been compiled.
Having said all this, I would expect the first betas of UD5 to be rolling out in the next few months, but this is purely a guess, and isn't based on any information released by MM (I could be totally wrong).

ripzaw: You are absolutely right, though there is one caveat. I run a Linux-based server, and as such UD is unable to synchronize with the servers clock (I constantly get errors about this).
What does this mean ? Well, unfortunately it means that as it's unable to access the Server's clock it can't synchronize the files, and therefore 9 times out of 10 I have to upload all the files, just to be sure.
This problem exists for everyone that uses a Linux based server unfortunately, and we are therefore unable to take advantage of this feature.

XHTML - definitely!!<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
When Ultradev first came out, it was miles ahead of interdev for ASP coding, mainly because of all the cool dreamweaver functionality, and the drag-and-drop stuff. Now visual studio.net is on its way and ultradev better take a giant step forward with the coding side of things or its going to get left behind.
- the code editor has vast room for improvement - even homesite is better, and how basic is that?
- what about auto code-completion?
- what about proper syntax checking?
- what about printing with line numbers? (homesite does this best!)
- obviously all of the dotNET functionality is required - this is not even an option for Ultradev to stay competitive, in fact if its not there we'll have to go back to using Visual Studio for the code, and dreamweaver for design - AND THAT WAS PAINFUL<img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>
- and please sort out that FTP!!!

Guys I don't believe you understand the issue here. Do you guys really work with a Development Server, Staging Server and of course Production/Live Server. If you did you would realize that the synchronization feature your referring to only works within the server your working on. This feature does not allow you to synchronize with another server other than the one you are working on.
I'n a proper setup your team works on the Development server then moves files to the Staging/Test Server before they are finally moved to the Production/Live Server.
During this move You need to copy files from windows explorer mapped to the appropriate remote server to the new server that you are interested in publishing to. i.e. Development remote server to Staging remote server. You will need to use the remote files since your local files are marked read only by Ultradev when they are added to a project.
All this work creates process which takes time. If there was a tool which asked What server to published marked files to and to recurse subdirectories (i.e. maintain directory structure) then this would be so much simpler for site management.
As I've stated before with minimal response would this not be a website managers ideal tool for ultradev.
Thank you for allowing me to respond.
Comments are more than welcome.
