When the field containing the message body is in html - the mailer adds an extra <br/> whenever the original text includes a line break <br /> which results in extra line spacing. Can this be stopped?

Here is an example of the html sent and received. This is really annoying and reduces people's desire to use it!

<p>Second line followed by Line Break
<br />Third line should be separated from above by only one space
