After 7 years, I'm still using old MX Query Builder:goo.gl/FSggf5
I consider it the most advanced and usable query builder.
Do you consider Database Connector an evolution of the InterAKT's extension or is a simply reply about the missing "server behaviour" panel in the new DW CC?
I'd like to test it but before to spend 200$, I'd like to know if it will give me more tools respect to MX Query Builder.
Thanks.
P.S. a lower price would have been welcome in times of economic crisis... my opinion, obviously...

Hello Michele,
The DMXzone Database Connector is much more advanced than Dreamweaver Server Behaviors. There is a huge difference in the way Dreamweaver Server Behaviors and DMXzone Database connector work.
The PHP server behaviors were removed from Dreamweaver CC because they use code that PHP itself has deprecated. In other words, it will be removed from a future version of PHP, and will stop working even if Adobe decided to leave it in Dreamweaver.
DMXzone Database Connector is PDO based, which is the new standard. It allows you to connect to any database with PHP PDO without any programming or PHP/PDO knowledge.
There is a powerful Query Builder that allows you to build fully visual an advanced query of your database source. It also supports advanced filtering, sorting and joins options and lets you directly view and test your database!
There is a built-in Ajax alike Pagination that uses native paging techniques specific for each database so you don't need to do any SQL magic by yourself.
Unfortunately we do not have any trial versions available, but there are 10 video tutorials showing every single feature of this extension.

Hello Teodor... but is possible to use it with other extensions, for example with Webassist's Data Bridge?
Data Bridge need recordset before to start the wizard... the recordset create with DB Connector is visible? Other extensions see the recordset in the same way of the old "server behavior" or works only in stand alone way?

Hello Michele,
The extension does not create a recordset visible in the server behaviors panel, as the Database Connector does not create "recordset" in the meaning of old server behaviors.
I don't think the Data Bridge can be used with this extension, as it won't "see" the Data Source.
As for the DMXzone extensions - our extensions that have dynamic source options will be updated in the near future, so they will be compatible with the DMXzone Database connector also.

Hi Michele,
The DMXzone Database Connector creates a "Database Source" which is actually a query that you can as similar to the old "recordset"
Having this " Database Source" you can power up the HTML5 Data Bindings extension and populate your page with data from your " Database Source", create repeat regions, use dynamic data etc.
So pretty much what you could do with the recordsets - but now all those data is rendered on the client browser and not on the server! So it has a great advantage and allows you to make dynamic interactive pages!
Greetings,
George

Ok, thanks George/Teodor... now it's clear for me what is Database Connector.
For the moment, DW CS4 (for ADDT) and DW CS6 (server behaviors) give me all the tools that I need to create modern web sites.
If in the near future, you'll consider to reduce the price (99$ is the correct price), I think that I buy it to test in some project that still use old "Adobe Spry framework".
Regards,
Michele
