Problem with Nivo Slider not staying inside flexible div

example - signature-online.net/southcreek/I have the right hand side of the screen displaying a google calendar with a fixed width of 450 pixels, and I have a div alongside with a flexible width.
The nivo slider (which takes its six slides from a database) should be inside that div, but it stretches way too far across.
I left most of the css inline, apart from the div that contains the two divs side by side, which is...
#imagepanelcontainer {
clear: both;
height: auto;
width: 85%;
margin-right: auto;
margin-bottom: 5px;
margin-left: auto;
min-width: 720px;
}
I would ideally like the nivo slider to expand and collapse as required, with the text appearing at the bottom of the, and set a maximum height for the whole thing of 500 pixels to fit in the panel alongside the Google Calendar - is this at all possible?
Thanks!

Hello Bill,
Make the div that holds the slider be of less width - in example 57% or 58%. Also make the Slider be of 98% width.

The problem is mostly your layout. Not the Nivo itself.
shrinking the nivo container will help you a lot.

absolutely understood, didn't mean to imply the extension is bad in any way.
Is there a way to separate the text and image, or will it alwsy be over the top of the graphic?

And Bill,
A hint - use images of same width and height if possible in the Nivo.

... and that's where you hit the nail on the head This particular client of mine uploads their own photos, and has proved incapable of keeping to a particular orientation, let alone an actual size! That's why I said this wasntt going to produce the desired results, not the extension's fault at all

I see...
Well... you could incorporate a resize on uploaded images to fit the design, especially if you are using our upload extension.
