Hi,Just purchased this extension. Set option to create photos at a 400w x 300h. The extension does that (verified with another graphics software.)
But when I look at the page in Chrome or Firefox, the photos measure bigger than 1300 px width. Checked browser settings and don't see why this would have a bearing on the issue. Also did a "Save image as..." in Firefox of the gigantic photo displayed and when I looked at its properties, it says 400w x 300h.
What could be causing this?
Second question. Need to know what section of your .css file controls placement of the thumbnails, because I must specify placement of main images, but the thumbnails are not displaying in a position relative to the each of the larger images.
See a test page: marcelo23.com/218margallery.htm
Thanks for any insights you may have.
Sincerely,
Frank

Hello Frank.
Go to design view , select the nivo slider in order to display the UI of the extension in the properties inspector. Specify the width property value to be 400. Currently you are loading the pictures in slider bigger than the image size.

Thank you for the feedback, Vulcho, but I checked my settings and followed your suggestion. I specified the width for "Photo" and "Big" to be 400 and the height 300, but they are appearing gigantic in my test browsers when I view the page above.
Do you mean that I should NOT specify 400 as the width for "Photo?"
How do I prevent the Nivo Slider from bringing up the last dimensions I entered when I create a new one? Do I have to reinstall the extension to do that and bring back the defaults?
Thanks, Frank

Further to this topic, here is a link that shows my settings for importing a folder of images:

The images look correct in DW CS6's "Live" view, but they grow geometrically when I view them in my browsers (Google, Firefox - both latest versions of the browsers)

Hello Frank.
When you insert the extension, can you click on the "Advanced" tab? You will be able to see the field "Slider width".Specify your desired width value in the field (In your case 400).
The width options is also available when you click on the existing slider and it is shown under the properties inspector in Dreamweaver.

Hello again, Vulcho -
I had hoped that would do it, but I get the same result. Looks like it's the correct sizing in DW CS6's live view, but still becomes gigantic when the page is viewed in eith Chrome or Firefox.
Again, to have a look, the link is:

I appreciate your time you're spending to make this work for me.
Best,
Frank

Hello Frank,
I see this in your code which means you entered "400px":
Can you please enter exactly "400" without "px" in the Advanced options.

Hello Teodor,
Did that and get same result:

Other ideas?
I also see that when I click on the "General" tab, the two buttons at the bottom are barely visible. I'm just taking a guess at which one is the correct one to click on, and I don't have any way to resize your dialog window.
Best,
Frank

Back again.
Found something I changed in the nivo-slider.css that corrected the sizing issue for the main photos.
I need to know what class or id in that css file controls the positioning of the thumbnails. Or can that be done through the dialogs?

Okay, Teodor, I found it in the basic.css code, and added code to correct positioning of thumbs.
Still don't know why your 2 buttons at the bottom of the General dialog are mostly hidden from view.
Any thoughts on that issue?
Appreciate your help,
Frank

Yes, Frank is correct and I have the exact same issue: For some reason even if you specify the width of the slider on the Advanced tab, DMXZones Nivo Slider seems to expand the images within the size you set for the slider. For example, if your main images (the large ones) are 600 pixels width x 400 pixels height, even if you specify on the advanced tab "600" - do not enter "px" after 600 - , when you preview the slider in the browser you'll see that the slider is indeed 600 pixels wide but the height will change and the images will not appear properly in that they appear to be zoomed so they are frequently cropped and are not kept proportional. I tried it on three different browsers, Chrome, Firefox, and IE (ver 8 and 10) and get the same erratic and incorrect results. The problem is easier to see than to describe. But the bottom line is that the Nivo Slider - at least the DMXZone version of this open-source slider - has significant issues with displaying correctly.
