Until the latest update I was not able to get this add-on working. Now I can login using Ajax and make and save changes on both the local and the remote server. This is without the FTP facility being active.I have now tried to activate the FTP facility but no files seem to be changed and a site-wide search doesn't find any of the FTP details. Also when I edit the add-on all login and specific ID's are recalled but no FTP info. Both my local and remote servers have ASP.NET activated.
It is clear that my FTP settings are not being used. How are the edits being saved if FTP is not being used? Is this method less secure than FTP?
If it is less secure then how do I activate FTP?

Hello John,
Using Ajax Login Box, your login details are not being sent over the internet this method is very secure. It verifies the username and password with MD5 encryption.
FTP is required if you have permissions problems using standard login or ajax login methods.
So - don't worry about the security using Ajax Login Box
