The HTML5 Video Player suddenly no longer works with YouTube video! I have an entire project set to launch based on this player and I need to know what's happening asap. The videos don't autoplay or show controls when loaded. In fact, the videos in your own demo don't even play anymore:

It's ridiculous that there isn't an explanation for this yet. I bought this extension for one reason and it DOES NOT WORK. Yet every day there are NEW extensions for sale. Why don't you fix the ones you've already sold that don't work first?

Hello Robert,

The developer is currently working on this. There are Youtube API changes that require rewriting of the code.

Maybe it is an idea if DMX discovers that an extension is not working well because of a change in API or browser that it will communicate by email that to the buyers of that extension.

This week I had 2 problems one with online editor problem with Chrome and now problem with control with the html video editor. First I spend at least one hour to find the problem myself, because I thought I had done something wrong, reading the manual again and watching videos ..... and when I later check this forum and find out it is a bug. It is a bit a waste of my time.

If you can email to sell your products it would be nice also to update is something wrong and when customers can expect an updated version.

I have the latest version of HTML5 Video Player on my site connecting to YouTube videos on my channel. I can't seem to get this to work at all using the Player interface.
I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 to code the pages - it works on my testing server, but, on uploading to my site no video appears (see www.graemedouglas.co.uk/vid1.html) .
I'd love some help in troubleshooting this glitch, or some other suggestions.

Hello Graeme.

The HTML5 Video Player on your page is working in my browser.
Can you specify the version of the browser you are using.
Can you describe the problem with the User Interface of the extension in Dreamweaver a little bit more detailed?

Regards:Vulcho.

Hi Vulcho and thank you for your reply,

I seem to have narrowed the problem down a bit. On my site I have four separate video pages (graemedouglas.co.uk/ vid1 - vid 4.). I'm using latest versions of Safari, Firefox and Chrome on OSX 10.8.2.

Vid1 and Vid 2 pages work fine using videos specifically coded as mp4 videos. On Vid 3 and Vid 4, however, I have output from FCPX as .mov files (output specifically for YouTube compatibility) - this seems weird in FCPX but I go along with it. These pages have videos which do not show.

I've read the blurb on YouTube about .mov files and, from what I can make out, they should work. Is there a setting, of which I'm unaware, that will make these videos show up on my site, or should I just re-code them as specific mp4 files?

What's your opinion?

Best
Graeme

I have updated to the latest HTML5 Video Player v1.0.6 which has broken the video playback. It loads the initial screen with the loading icon, also no controls are showing no matter what skin is used, if I view the page locally in any browser. Fortunately I have not uploaded the latest support files to the live site, so the videos are still working there.

They are YouTube videos.

Any solution?

Hello David,
It seems the styles of the player were not updated properly. Please remove the Styles/dmxHTML5VideoPlayer folder locally and reapply the Video player. This will recreate the styles. Then upload manually the newly generated files to your server.

Hi Teodor
I've deleted the Styles/dmxHTML5VideoPlayer folder then reapplied the Player. Still having the same problem. Tried another skin but no luck. I should be able to view the video locally.

I have a feeling that one of the JS files is not working properly.
Cheers

Another thing - I tried setting up a completely new site to test Video Player v1.0.6 on another computer, and still the same problem as above.

Strange things happening!

There are 2 videos here that are working OK on the live site, but they can't be viewed locally. Surely one needs to preview the videos before uploading. I can't preview in any browser.

Another thing - the timer on the controls is not working on the live page.
I've tried 3 different skins all with the same problem.

All the latest support files for each skin had been uploaded.

Reentering the discussion - I still have these problems with another site as outlined in my last post above:

1. Videos can't be viewed locally
2. The timer on the controls is not working
