is it possible to have the Ajax event calendar open in the Lightbox and when I use selects a date the light box closes and the correct page of the website opens? So the calendar will have dynamic links that close the lightbox and open a page.

Hello Rusty,

you can set up to the events links any behavior on onclick event through Behavior connector. So opening the Calendar in Lightbox than assigning to it a go to url behavior addressed to the _parent. And then you can assign to it and Close Lightbox Behavior.
