Is it possible to control the feed scroll behavior using a link?

For example I have a horizontal feed ticker that shows only one snippet at a time and scrolls continuously from right to left every 'x' number of seconds.

What I would like to do is have a left bracket "<" and a right bracket ">" as links (just to the left of my feed), which when clicked on would cause the feed to scroll in that direction.

Unfortunately this is not possible. The extension does not provide behaviours to allow such customisation.
