What is the best free editing app for photos? What apps do you use?

I use Photoshop and Lightroom but I was looking for some good alternatioves to these apps here https://skylum.com/blog/photoshop-alternative-for-mac and I found Luminar. It is available for MacOS and Windows and provides image retouching tools, non-destructive adjustments, and creative filters, fonts and effects.
