Hello:My image gallery is working fine in all major browsers except it doesn't show up at all in IE-8. I do not want thumbnails showing and so I have set those at 0 width and 0 height. I saw something in another post that seemed to indicate that hiding thumbnails might be related to the problem? I can't find a solution to this anywhere in your manual or online info. and I emailed about this 5 days ago and am still waiting to hear back. Your prompt attention would be appreciated.

Hello,
Thanks for your recent email. I'm not sure whether it's better to post here or email, so I'm doing both.
Deleting the Scriptslibrary folder solved the problem; I can now see the slide show in Internet Explorer.
But now there are 2 new problems.
Please see this link:
www.m2friend.com/huron10
The problems are:
1) I do not want thumbnails, and I cannot get rid of them. I tried putting "0" for thumbnail width and height, but it's still showing up (see the far-right edge of the big image—you can see the arrow for the thumbnails showing up, preventing the image from extending all the way to the right of the page). How do I get rid of the thumbnails?
2) The slide show is not working now—it is not advancing through; there should be 3 images rotating.
Please advise as soon as possible, and thanks very much.

Mary

Hello Mary.
Have you inspected your browser's JavaScript console for any errors?
The display may be dependent on Fotorama.a, a script that experiences issues in IE8 and IE9, and therefore may not function properly. This script makes use of the JavaScript console, which is only available in IE8 and IE9 when developer tools are enabled.
I hope this will help to solve your problem somehow.
Sincerely,
Stefan Heisel,

I can totally relate to the frustration you're experiencing with your image gallery not working in IE8. I ran into nearly the same problem when building a site overwatch-boosting.com/ recently. Images and gallery showed fine in modern browsers, but were completely broken in IE8.
After some troubleshooting, I realized the culprit was my use of flexbox for styling the gallery. Flexbox is not supported at all in old versions of IE. To fix it, I had to scrap the flexbox approach and redo the gallery layout using older, supported techniques like float and clearfix.

When dealing with technical issues, such as software glitches or display errors, users often explore various settings and configurations to find a solution. If you're experiencing a problem and suspect that hiding thumbnails might be related, it's essential to investigate this possibility thoroughly. This approach can be particularly relevant in fields like online retail, where visual elements, such as ethical diamond jewelry thumbnails, play a crucial role.
1. Impact on Visual Display:
Hiding thumbnails can affect how visual content is displayed on your screen. If you're working in an environment where images are crucial, like an online store showcasing ethical diamond jewelry, this setting could interfere with how products are viewed, leading to potential problems.
2. Software Compatibility:
Some software applications might have issues rendering content correctly if thumbnails are hidden. This could result in display errors or missing images, making it difficult to manage visual assets, such as ethical diamond jewelry photos.
3. Performance Issues:
In some cases, hiding thumbnails might be a workaround to improve system performance. However, this could also be masking a deeper issue, such as corrupted files or software conflicts, which need to be addressed to prevent further problems.
4. Troubleshooting Steps:
If you're unable to find a solution, it might be helpful to revert the setting and see if the issue persists. Restoring thumbnails could clarify whether they are indeed related to the problem, especially when managing image-heavy content like ethical diamond jewelry.
5. Professional Assistance:
If troubleshooting on your own doesn’t resolve the issue, seeking professional help might be necessary. Experts can diagnose whether hiding thumbnails is a symptom of a larger problem, particularly in complex systems that handle detailed visual content.
In conclusion, while hiding thumbnails could be related to your problem, it's important to explore this and other potential causes to find a solution, especially when dealing with visually-driven content like ethical diamond jewelry.
