Hey everyone,I’m looking for some advice on duct sealing. My home has a few air leaks, and I’ve noticed that my HVAC system is struggling to maintain temperature, especially in certain rooms. I’ve read about different options like mastic sealant, foil tape, and aerosol-based sealing.
Which method would be most effective for sealing minor leaks in my ductwork? Also, are there any DIY options that work well, or is it worth hiring a professional for better results? Any insights or personal experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

For sealing minor duct leaks, I recommend using mastic sealant as it’s durable and flexible, providing a strong seal. Foil tape is also effective for sealing seams and joints, but make sure it’s HVAC-grade tape. Aerosol-based sealants are convenient for hard-to-reach areas but might not last as long.
As a suggestion, you might want to check out TLS Insulation for high-quality sealing products. For DIY, mastic and foil tape are manageable options. Just ensure the ducts are clean before applying. If you have significant leaks or are unsure about the process, consider hiring a professional for a thorough inspection and sealing.
