The new DMXzone Extension Manager will not run on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.5. I tried the following 3-4 times.

Steps to reproduce:
- Install in the Applications folder.
- Double-click to start application.
- When the goofy error message appears (see screenshot), click OK.
- Watch spinning graphic for a few minutes.
- Select the Quit command.
- When the Quit command fails to work, do a force quit.

Hi Phil,

Could you specify which version of Dreamweaver you have installed and also supply a list of installed extensions?

There must be an extension installed that is not well formatted and our new app is pretty strict about it.

Greetings,
George

Hi, George.

I have two versions of Dreamweaver installed:
- Dreamweaver CC 2014 (Installed in the past few days to replace Dreamweaver CC)
- Dreamweaver CS5 (I keep this around in case of any CC problems)

Since I have numerous extensions, I captured screenshots to list them:

Let me know if you want me to test disabling any particular extensions. I will do that when I have time.

Thanks for your prompt reply. ...pt

Hi Phil,

Yes please try disabling the extensions to see which one is causing problems. But this ca be time consuming.

You can zip and mail me your extensions mxi files. Those are files that define how an extension is installed and we are trying to read them.

Those MXI files can be found easies in DW CS5 as they are store in the Dreamweaver user configuration folder.

Just zip and mail me this folder:

/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS5/en_US/Configuration/Extensions

Thanks!
George

George,

Hi, again. Although I would be happy to help your testing by disabling some particular extensions, I don't have time to deal with every installed extension.

However, I have zipped up a copy of my CS 5 Extensions folder for you to test on your end. What e-mail address should I send it to?

George,

I just separately e-mailed you the files you requested.

If you identify which of the older extensions may be causing the problems, I can try disabling or deleting them on my end to verify the problem is solved.

Although I keep Dreamweaver CS5 around for emergency use, it doesn't get much use. So it still has a lot of older extensions. Adobe Extension Manager seems to work fine with them though.

Thanks for your help. ...pt

Hello Phil,
Please download and install the latest version of DMXzone Extension Manager, this issue should be fixed there.

I’ve often had the problem of forgetting to clear space on my Mac, so it ends up filled with old, irrelevant files and other junk. This kept me from installing new apps or software because I needed the latest version of macOS. But I didn’t have enough space for the update! It’s a bit ridiculous—just because I didn’t stay on top of it, now I’m stuck dealing with a bunch of issues all at once.

I totally get it because it’s a real headache for me, too. I have 256GB on my Mac, which isn’t tiny, but sometimes I forget to delete things, and then I get the dreaded “not enough free space” message at the worst moments. I try to handle this using a few tools, mainly Gemini and CleanMyMac, but there’s a good list of other apps in this article https://setapp.com/how-to/free-up-disk-space-on-mac. I also make a habit of regularly clearing the cache, and it seems like I haven’t had any storage issues lately!
