How to obtain a refund as it's incompatible

This addon installed and started, but does not work as advertised. I don't have all the options I see in the manual, it won't open a template in design mode and it's frankly just incompatible. I've written several times now asking for a refund, but never hear back. I did get a solicitation today to buy more items, but no response to my request.

How to proceed?

Hello R P,
When describing an issue, please be more detailed. "It's incompatible" is not only not making it clear what exactly the issue is, but it sounds ridiculous.
The extension is working exactly as advertised and there are no options, explained in the manual that are missing...

1. Which of the options that you see in the manual are missing - exactly?
2. What exactly does this statement mean - "it won't open a template in design mode"? The extension is compatible and with and designed to be used in design view.
3. What exactly does this statement mean - "it's frankly just incompatible"? It is incompatible with what?!

#1: In the manual I see a ladder of choices for inserting various elements within the floating window. In the floating window in mine, I see only the phrase "DMX Bootstrap 3", which is clickable but does nothing at all when clicked.

#2: Re: "opening a template in design mode"
I have a template here from Templatemonster that would not display correctly in DW design mode. Totally broken. Spotted your 1.2 version of your addon, and it was at least showing it close to right. Seeing something with the same name and "version 3" as it appeared to be, I purchased this to be able to edit that template. It would not display correctly, in fact no different than without it, and downloaded a group of files and folders it stated were "required", but made no difference in the functions or display.

#3: As for incompatible, see #1 and #2.
The entire point of the purchase was to use this to finally be able to edit that template. It's incompatible.
At this point, I'd prefer a refund. I've already uninstalled it.

#1, #2 and #3 - If the template is Bootstrap 3 based, you CAN edit its layout using DMXzone Bootstrap 3. In order to see it properly and see the options in the Bootstrap 3 panel you need to "point" the extension to the template's css and js files and also - please turn the automatic files update OFF.
Go to Commands > DMXzone Bootstrap 3 Options and then browse to the template's bootstrap css and js files, just like on this screenshot:

The issue(s) that you are having have nothing to do with our products actually, but you have not properly set it up to be used with 3rd party code, which we are not responsible if is contains errors or hand-coded customizations.

I did point it at your files. Doing so doesn't allow the display either. May I also remind you that the "ladder" of elements never showed up. I had no way to use this product.

"The issue(s) that you are having have nothing to do with our products"

I see, wash your hands of it. Will I be given a refund here?

Please provide a screenshot of what exactly do you mean by: "Doing so doesn't allow the display either."
Please also provide a link to the template that you are using, so we can check its source.

Elements?! DMXzone Bootstrap 3 Elements is an additional extension, which obviously you have not purchased, as you do not see them in your DW ... www.dmxzone.com/go/22406/dmxzone-bootstrap-3-elements

And no - we are not washing your hands of it. The product works exactly as described and you can use it exactly as shown in the manual and video tutorials.
According our refund conditions, that you agreed to, when purchasing the extension we cannot refund you this purchase, because of a third party template(code) that you cannot setup properly. www.dmxzone.com/72/refund-conditions/

I'm assuming a language barrier here, but I'm not talking about the elements extension, I'm referring to the various things/elements I'm supposed to be able to use. Here's a screen shot from your own site:

I have none of those. None.

Then you have not properly selected your template css files, as i explained in my previous post.
Please provide a screenshot of what exactly do you see in DW.
Please also provide a link to the template that you are using, so we can check its source.

Yes, I had. I selected your files, no change; I selected the template's files, no change. I also uninstalled and reinstalled it. No change. I've since uninstalled it and given up. May I please have the refund instead?

As i already explained - According our refund conditions we cannot refund you this purchase.
We need to check what you see in your DW, when you properly select the template's files and also we need to check the template for issues.

Then you leave me no choice but to contact our bank and file a chargeback, as I'm unwilling to reinstall this and go through all the same steps only to have you tell me it's my fault again.

Reinstalled, double checked all settings, no change. Uninstalled, for the last time on both.

It seems you are not even trying to cooperate in resolving the issue (that is obviously not caused by our extension).
I've already asked you 2 times, trying this for 3rd time:

We need to check what you see in your DW, when you properly select the template's files and also we need to check the template for issues.

And I've explained several times, I've properly selected the templates files. Just did it again after reinstalling, in fact. I've again uninstalled, for the last time.

That's why i asked you for the template link. Of course it won't function properly ... the template is based on Bootstrap 2.2.2 Which has been deprecated and not supported long time ago!

Your request does not fall under any of our refund conditions and the refund cannot be processed. It is not a problem caused by our extension.

While Teodor can be a little abrasive, this product works as advertised for us and has saved us a ton of time. I would advise the more flies with honey approach.

"Teodor can be a little abrasive"
Clearly.

"the template is based on Bootstrap 2.2.2 Which has been deprecated"
I used the "convert to bootstrap 3" within your product. No change. Should that not have fixed the issue?

Also, even if I tell it not to "automatically update" by unchecking the box, it still downloads all those files I mentioned.

9 years ago Teodor Kuduschiev replied:
The convert to bootstrap 3 function may not work properly if there are hand-made changes to the original bootstrap 2 code, which is most probably the case with this template.
Not sure which files is the extension downloading? Bootstrap 3 cannot and does not download any files.

It states there are required files and downloads/creates two folders " bootstrap" and "ScriptLibrary" (I've reinstalled to test against a free bootstrap3 template).

The new template displays a bit better, but not 100% right, more like 80%.

Here's what I see for the insert menu:

Doesn't appear to do anything except hang DW for 12 seconds or so.

9 years ago Teodor Kuduschiev replied:
Yes it does create those files. As i explained - when using a template you must link the bootstrap css files to the template css files.
Note that DW Design view is using an old rendering engine, which can be easily broken by some css rules. For 100% real preview you should use Live view. Bootstrap 3 works fine in Live View.

"when using a template you must link the bootstrap css files to the template css files."

Are you saying there that I need to do an @import between them or something of that nature?
(see my last post about the insert menu)

9 years ago Teodor Kuduschiev replied:
No, you must do this here - go and browse to the bootstrap 3 files coming with the template:

As for the insert menu - when you press this button it adds bootstrap 3 files on your page. This is used on blank new page. You do not need this with the templates. You should open the bootstrap 3 panel.. Window > Bootstrap 3 Grid and work from there (after linking to bootsrap 3 files as shown in the screenshot)

Ok, I'm going to give this more of a try, as well as apologize for my comments made in anger.
Though it's slow to act and work, it is indeed now working with a straight bs-3 template, even if it's not 100% effective. Once I fiddled with it some, I can now see additional options in the grid choices/window. Can't ask for more than that at this point.

Glad to hear it is working for you! I do not believe there is any other product out there that makes working with bootstrap this seamless for dreamweaver.
