All of the videos for this show to use the Data Bindings Panel. I was told in other threads that the security can be used with App Connect Panel. Can you do a video on this ASAP please. I am stuck on a project until I figure that out. I don't see a way to do it and wondering if I have to start my project over yet again?

Hello Brad,
Could you please explain which part of setting up the security is not clear for you? You setup the security provider within Server Connect ... not within App Connect. App connect is only used to run the server action.

Securing the pages and redirecting to the login page requires the Data bindings, logging on and out requires the data bindings.

Hello Brad,
Probably you are watching some old videos ...
Here it is explained how to log in and out users: www.dmxzone.com/go/32338/filtering-a-database-query-using-the-identity-of-the-logged-in-user/ and it does not really have anything to do with data bindings, except running the action files ... which you can do in App Connect.
Securing the page and redirecting requires the security enforcer, which also has nothing to do with the bindings.

Lol, of course I am watching old videos as there is no new ones. ;-)

So how do you secure a page now? Doesn't make sense to have a login if the pages behind it aren't secure.

Please check the link i sent you!
It is not related to data bindings .... you secure the pages using the Security ENFORCER which is not related to DATA BINDINGS OR APP CONNECT.

I am talking about protecting the pages that I want secured.

As long as you say it can be done, I'll figure it out. Have a good weekend :-)

That;s an extremely old video ... this is not the way of doing it and it has been like that for the past two years.
To protect/restrict access and redirect use: Security Provider Enforcer (not provide or provide executor ...)

Ok, I have managed to get all of the security stuff working except linking the Log out to a text link. The old way and the way in the video you linked says to use the behaviours panel. I expected that to work the same way now but there is no way to control the App Connect action from a text link in the behaviours panel.

So how do you link a button or text link to a logout action now?

Hello Brad,
It is really easy to do this:
1. Create your log out action
2. On the page, within app connect, add server connect component, connect it to your log out action, select: Disable Auto Load, so it won't auto run on page load.
3. Select your log out button, add dynamic event, mouse > click > and run the log out server connect component.
