I'm working on a website and my testing database it situated on localhost. I have also set up a remote server on our company NAS, so that my co-workers can see the progressing website and comment on it before we go live. One problem arises. When synchronising with the remote, I change the database connection to the remote database. After synchronizing, I change the connection back to localhost. But even though I have cloaked the folder dmxConnections and the files within it, as soon as I change to localhost, the same happens for the remote server, and the website no longer works on the remote website, because the database cannot be located.
Off course I want to be able to play with the data on my testserver isolated. The problem gets only bigger when the website eventually will be moved to a public server, and I'm still playing around in Dreamweaver with updates to the website...
How can I keep the connection files apart local/remote and only synchronize/upload when it is planned. I thought cloaking was the solution, but it clearly isn't. I'm sure, I'm missing something somewhere, but I can't figure out what!

Hello Kim,
The extension automatically uploads the connection file to the remote server that is defined in your DW.
All you need to do is to define 2 remote/testing servers in your dreamweaver - one for local testing and one for remote. When working locally, you just need to enable the local server, when you want to make changes you just disable the local testing server and enable the remote one.

Is it that simple??
Have to admit, that I have been working with DW extensions from Webassist earlier and this worked differently. So I was not aware of this function in DW - or rather I have misunderstood it. Embarrasing!
Thanks for your answer. And keep those fantastic DW extensions coming!
Best wishes, Kim
