guys have been taking the time to go thru all the guides on this new plugin, not that i like the rediculas price tag I do see some of the benefits.
But one thing I dont find anywhere which is the one thing holding me back from a purchase is a random selection option....
IS there one, where is it and when will it be added if not?
As you mention in your own texts its a complete solution yet this needs to be an option for me to even consider spending the pennies...

Can you please explain what do you mean by: "random selection option"?
Is this the sorting of the results that you want to be random and not sorted ASC/DESC ?

Currently we are sorting on database level, and there the sort options are ascending and descending.
If this is the option you need, we are going to discuss the best way of achieving this and we can integrate it in the next update.

Was thinking a random selection of data in general, so if I would want to display a single random or even multiple products, say the top 5 products selected randomly.

At the moment I use a mixture of sql and php to obtain and display this.

A random selection is one of the nightmares most devs have, especially if ur starting out so am sure i wouldn't be the only one wanting or needing this simple feature but I think you guys know that .

So is that a guarantee that it will be included? if yes then I will go ahead and buy now, start getting used to it, please let me know.

The feature is currently under development - if there are no any major issues with it this will be added in the next update.

Did this ever get added? I can't see how to apply ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1 using query builder.

You can currently use the DMXzone Server Data Formatter, in order to sort your query by random order, and pick 1 record from it.
