The Labels/Placeholders (First Name, Last Name, Email etc.) not showing in IE8

The labels/placeholders (First Name, Last Name, Email, etc) telling people what each of the fields in the form are for do not show in IE8.

From what I've found out I guess placeholders are not supported in IE9 or less.
it looks like I'll have to use jquery to fix this issue.
