Have looked at adjustments to Advanced options, but don't see a way to reduce the big border area that appears around each of my slides.

Is there a recommended way to reduce it?

You just need to provide images without any black area around them..

Sorry, but none of the images have any black area around them. The first one - "Everyone in the water" - may appear that way, but it's because it was taken at night. The original image size is 350 x 278 pixels.

There has to be an answer as to why the top and bottom border of each slide is so large. Side borders are acceptable, but such a large top border almost places the slide show off the page on my laptop.

Other suggestions?

Please make sure you are not using the REsizer integrated in the Nivo Slider then... Most probably you set a wrong size.

Let me state my question in another way.

You can see that the photos do not have any black border around them, except the one provided by your Nivo Slider extension.

So how do I reduce that top and bottom black border around each image? Is it a matter of trying different sizings to see which works best? Or maybe selecting a theme other then "Basic?"

Yikes, from what you just told me then, it appears that I have to add the images ONE slide at a time, because when I click to add a folder of images, the Image REsizer automatically displays.

If that's the case, I think a fix is in order for this issue.

You just need to turn the resizer option OFF.

Further to your suggestion, if I select 1 image to add, the built in Image Resizer automatically appears anyway, so how do I avoid using it, as you have suggested?

Maybe I should just uninstall the extension and reinstall it to get back to original default conditions and see if that will correct the problem?

There is a checkbox "USe DMXzone Image Resizer" - just turn it off.

Okay, think I have it - it is a sizing specification issue - but will get back to you when I try what I did with a folder import...

Confirmed. Works okay. Issue was variable sizes of photos I was given. When I specified size of one, the black border was gone - what I wanted - but then, on another, the top part was cut off. Not much one can do but put a frame big enough to account for this, or resize all of the images before import, so that they are at least approximately the same width and height.
