You need Pure Upload ASP/PHP extension in order to upload images. You also need to use the "Allow upload" option in the Advanced HTML Editor settings.

this is what I thought :-) after installing the ppu all was fine. I thought the upload will work without it.
An other thing...
Is it right, that the gallery upload uses the same MAX image size that I set in the editor itself?

Yes - as the gallery is an add-on for the editor, it uses the settings defined in the editor itself.
