I was looking at the demo. It looks like a great product but I am concerned that it showed setting the Templates folder permissions to 777. On my web server all folders are 755. I am told that 777 is a security risk. Will this extension work with 755?

This is a very important issue that honestly affects whether I buy it or not. Thanks.

Hi Jeremy,

755 won't work as then the web user can not change files.

If you need the best security - then just supply also FTP account and then the chanegs will be just FTP-ed to the right location with the right user! All fully transparent.

Greetings,
George

I'm not sure I follow you. I'm only following advice that I have been given that 777 is not safe on a web server as it can potentially allow hackers in. I'm not sure how the FTP part helps - I simply thought that 777 was insecure, no mater what. I don't understand why this is, just that people advise me not to use these permissions. Please can you enlighten me.
