Am trying to recreate your tutorial from the spa demo site (using the html5 slideshow and html5 mp3 player) in DW CS5. When I am trying to preview in IE it gives me the "sound manager2 failed to initialize" message. Am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Check if all files and folders are uploaded and are accessible.

Well all the files are on my computer locally and they are in the root folder of the website I am building. Everything else in previewing fine, the HTML5 slideshow it is, only the player does not.

That application uses some flash components in back end. They have some restrictions for working for localhost. Upload you application on testing server and check again. If you like to be able to preview it locally you need to ste correct settings in www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html
There are enough explanations on that page.
