What is YKK Zipper?

YKK Zips are the best in the world. They’re made by Japanese company Yoshida Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, or simply, YKK. The company was founded in 1918 and has grown into one of the most trusted names in zippers today.

YKK stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha; this means that it’s basically just another way of saying “Yoshida Industries.”


YKK has been the world’s largest zipper manufacturer since 1964. Zippers are used in almost every industry and sometime Zippers for sale to clothing to shoes and luggage. They’re also the most common fasteners on our planet—more than half of all zippers are made by YKK!

YKK is a Japanese company that was founded in 1934 by two brothers who wanted to create better products for their country’s economy. The company went on to become one of the most recognizable brands worldwide thanks to its use of quality materials like polyester thread and stainless steel wire springs (these days, they use polyamide fibers instead).
