Slideshow works fine on a desktop in Safari, IE and Firefox, but on both the iPhone and iPad, I just get the spinning "loading" graphic. The slideshow never appears. Can someone help? Thanks!

there seems to be quite a few errors in the html code of your site, try to clean that up and see if it get you going on the iThings.

on the side - initial loading of your page takes 12 s on a high bandwidth, must be ages on slower connections. that would require a hell of a patient visitor, but they - then it is the bahamas...

Fixed the errors. Still no joy. Just a spinning wheel. And yeah. The images are huge. Haven't compressed them yet. More concerned about functionality right now than speed.

what is your test setup for the iThingies? Do you test them on a local server or they need to connect to the inet (through w/lan). I don't have one of those, thence cannot test it my end. if you haven't yet can you try a single small image for the gallery only and see if that works?

Hi All,

Please make sure you are using the latest 1.0.2 version of the HTML5 Slideshow. We have done some great iPad optimizations there.

However always optimize your images as well, and do not do a slideshow with hundreds of images on the iPad - because the iPad have a very slow web browser ... so the more content you give it the slower it will get.

I have to load them up to the live site in order to view them on the iThings. Sucks. But I've gone ahead and compressed the files so they're much smaller now. Anyway, I'll try just doing a single image and see what happens.

George,

I am using the latest (1.0.2) version and have optimized the files. There are only 18 images.

OK, I think I've got it. The image compression seemed to do the trick, at least for the iPhone. I'll check the iPad later. Thanks!
