another suggestion, if feasible, to let the user define/choose where to place the related script/css/image files. Since I have got a few other DM extensions and each and every one using their own folder tree it is getting kind of messy and hard to keep track which applications is placing files where... Hello KM,
we keep our extensions file structure to a limited number of directories. Yet some of them need additional folders to be created and in order to have a clean code they are placed in the site root. However, main folders for our extensions are two - ScriptLibrary and Styles that resides in your Site root. Extensions that place additional folders in your root are few on number -dmxLightbox, Animated Thumbnail Gallery, Ajax DataGrid, Adv.HTML Editor, Ajax Calendar. ( I may missing some but not much)
So in general all is there - in two folders.

this is just for dmx extensions. take another one or tow form other vendors, exhibiting similar behaviour, and the thing becomes messy.
but understood from a post by George in another thread that dmx is not going to change that
