I have a similar issue, although I have only 1 table and wish to create both horizontal and vertical menus:
Table:
menu_id (main id)
menu_parent_id (sub menu link to parent id)
menu_position (1 - top menu, or 2 - side menu)
menu_name (Menu Name)
etc
This has worked perfectly fine for me in the past and makes my CMS really easy to manage, as I can easily move menu items from side menu (vertical) to top menu (horizontal) and also have it supporting drag & drop of menu items for arrangement.
If I've to completely change the working of my menu tables for this extension to work, I'd be better going to look for an alternative, as changing the table structure of all of my customers sites would be a nightmare, when all I am trying to do, is keep their systems up to date with new functionality.
So like Eli, can you please let me know if this is possible?
Thanks
Justin
