You know what would be great? An outdoor entertainment theater. You’ve probably seen them on TV, or maybe you even have one at home. It’s a really cool way to transform your backyard into an area where you can relax and hang out with friends and family. And if you’re like me, after spending dozens of hours thinking about how much fun it would be to build one of these things yourself—only to realize that it’s just too much work—it might seem like there’s no hope for your dream project. Well don’t give up! We’ve got some ideas for simplifying the process so that anyone can build their own outdoor entertainment theater without breaking a sweat (or blowing their budget).
You need to have the right design.

You may be thinking, “I don’t know anything about designing an outdoor entertainment space.” Don’t worry! There are plenty of resources that can help you with this. If you have a basic understanding of what you want and how it will be used, then your local landscape architect or designer should be able to take over from there.

You also need to make sure your design is functional and meets your needs–it’s not just about aesthetics! For example: if you live in an area where it rains a lot (like Seattle), then maybe having an open-air theater isn’t the best idea because rain could ruin all of your furniture or electronics quickly. Similarly, if the majority of people who use your outdoor entertainment space tend to wear shorts during warmer months but long pants in colder ones (which would mean having two different types of seating areas), then consider this when making decisions about how much shade/sunlight each part receives throughout each day depending on seasonality as well as where certain activities happen most often throughout various times year-round (e.g., barbecue cooking versus watching movies).
You need to consider size.

You need to consider size.
The size of the area you’re trying to fill with your theater will determine how large a screen and speakers you need, as well as how many seats are required. If you have a large backyard and want everyone in attendance to be able to see clearly from their seat, then consider going with a larger-than-average screen (70 inches or more) and surround sound system (with at least six speakers).

If space is limited, however–or if it’s just not possible for everyone in attendance at once–then there are other options available that can still provide great results without taking up too much space or being too expensive:
