Tried replacing 'parent' with '_blank', 'blank' and 'new' to no avail.

Any ideas anyone?

This behavior is available to act only in current window.

you can achieve the result in your question connecting the Dmxzone Lightbox extension with the grid.

The behavior you should apply is "When cell is clicked">"DMXZone">DMXZone Lightbox>Open DMXZone Lightbox.
