I'm using PAU 3.0.17 (and the Flash Upload Control)

When I upload a file with a filename that contains certain special characters, PAU is storing the file on the server WITHOUT the special characters, but is recording the filename in the database WITH the special characters.

For example, if I upload:

Picture(3).jpg

...PAU is storing the file on the server as:

Picture3.jpg

...but recording the filename in the database as:

Picture(3).jpg

...which causes my application to be unable to link correctly to the file.

How can I fix this glitch? It's causing immense frustration with my userbase.

Sorry For the late answer on your issue but we must have overlooked your topic. Really sorry for your trouble.
However that seems to be so by design and the name of the file is set to go in the database before cleaning function to be applied.

It is raised as an issue and is about to be addressed in next update.
