Dreamweaver and Sharepoint

No real info available...
March 1, 2005 by Chris Charlton

I Google'd and searched @ Macromedia, but no info at all. I assume, from MS's site that Sharepoint is ActiveX dependant, so IE is required in general and programs like FrontPage/Office use FrontPage extensions to communicate nicely with Sharepoint server.

And I know Dreamweaver authoring enviroment doesn't have either of these in it, so I think you need to phone/email Macromedia and Microsoft both to get official answers

My Experience

My experience is that I have never been able to get Dreamweaver to work with SharePoint well enough for me to not need to open SharePoint most of the time anyway... so I just use the MS SharePoint app.

Thanks for the comments, this has been logged with Macromedia. Also, have people coming into the workplace tomorrow, with (hopefully!) a solution. Have found that Sharepoint over rides the permissions etc in IIS, as is being used for the intranet, links to html pages okay though. Will post reply when I have one.

Sharepoint

Hi,
Unfortunately you have to go for Frontpage 2003 to work with sharepoint. I hope the Adobe realises the Market and offer some solution in future.
