Monotype released its compression technology that shrinks font download sizes and made it free for public use. MicroType Express is going to be used in major browsers like Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. Google Demotes Chrome in Search Results over Pay-for-post Promo

Searches for the keyword "browser" no longer bring up the Google Chrome home page after Google applied a penalty against the page and demoted it in the search results for a period of at least 60 days. The company also banned the Google Chrome download page over paid links. The reason for those actions was Google’s own sponsored post campaign on blog sites that seemed to encourage low-quality content.

Tool Tracks Hard Disk Price Increases

Since the flooding in Thailand a few weeks ago the prices of the hard disk drives have been excessively rising. The new tool, called Computer reseller Newegg, offers a quick way to track HDD pricing. According to the results from a search on a Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM, model ST31000524AS drive the price jumped to $149.99 from $49.99 since the flooding.
