Apple has sent out invites for a September 10 special event focusing on iPhone. The event is set to take place at 10 AM PT on the 10th at the Apple Campus in Cupertino, according to the invite, which will probably come as no surprise to those who watch the company and the rumors surrounding its impending product launches.
Apple announced that all of its developer program services are now back online. Apple’s portal for developers, which also hosts its iOS and OS X beta downloads, went down on July 18th and a few days after, the company acknowledged that there had been a security breach. To make up for the prolonged outage of some of the services, Apple will extend all memberships, which are usually for a year, by one month.
Apple’s iOS 7 Beta 5 is now available to developers who have the pre-release software installed on their devices, about a week after it released the 4th beta of the mobile OS. The software is likely approaching its final, stable launch state, as Apple has committed to a wide public launch of iOS 7 this fall.

Several older Apple iPhone and iPad models infringe on a patent held by Samsung, a judge at the U.S. International Trade Commission said on Tuesday. In a final ruling (PDF), the ITC said Apple infringes on a Samsung patent related to cellular technology with AT&T models of the iPhone 3GS and 4, along with 3G models of the iPad 1 and 2. As part of the ruling, the ITC has issued a limited order to ban those devices from sale in the U.S. The decision is final, however Apple can appeal it to the Federal Circuit, or bid for a reprieve from the White House, which has the power to approve or disprove of the ruling.
