Job postings on Microsoft's careers site indicate that the company is working on bringing Skype to the Xbox platform. The postings are for various engineering and management positions in London, and the successful applicants would be working as part of the apparently newly-formed Skype Xbox Engineering Team.
The nanocontent company Twitter is buying the microblog site Posterous, according to posts on both services. Terms of the deal are not yet public. Posterous is a blog platform with a focus on simplicity. Like competitor Tumblr, it's designed so users can quickly create short posts. Items can be posted from the Web, the Posterous mobile app, or from e-mail.
Facebook introduced a crop of 60 new partners that have integrated their applications which add real-world interactions to Facebook pages with Open Graph. But the experts warn that you should be careful while using them because adding an app means that it will update your Timeline for you whenever you do a given activity.
Google+ and Facebook are trying to make their design more visually appealing and user friendly. Recently they've introduced new features which give additional control to their users. Facebook launched an app update which allows iPhone users access to the new Timeline feature, friend lists, subscribers, and subscriptions. Version 4.1 of the social network's profile design also makes it easier to view, upload, and comment on photos according to Facebook.

Facebook also announced a major update to its Android mobile app which comes with improved navigation and search, new photo viewing and more.

Deutsche Welle reported that the state data protection authority in Hamburg plans to sue Facebook over its facial-recognition feature. The reason for the lawsuit is the fact that the facial-recognition requires storing a comprehensive database of the biometric features of all users, reported by the organization. According to the law Facebook should have had unequivocal consent of the parties by both European and national data protection law, before introducing the new feature.
