Note this is the version of the browser rather than the browser brand but nevertheless an incredible achievement. The browser surpasses IE7 as the most popular browser, with IE8 close behind thanks to the success of Windows 7.

Mozilla thinks mobile Firefox will kill app stores

The big problem facing developers today is that each mobile app store is unique. Apple's App Store requires one SDK, Android, another, and so on and so forth. Why is there no uniform platform to make developer's lives easier? Why can't someone just develop a single application and then allow all mobile devices to use it?

Firefox, Adobe top buggiest-software list

Firefox was the application that had the most reported vulnerabilities this year, while holes in Adobe Reader more than tripled from a year ago, according to statistics compiled by Qualys, a vulnerability management provider.
Qualys tallied 102 vulnerabilities that were found in Firefox this year, up from 90 last year. The numbers are based on running totals in the National Vulnerability Database.

Bing is not popular enough for Firefox

Asa Dotzler, Mozilla's director of community development, explains why an add-on is required to add Bing as a search option from within Firefox.
If you download a fresh copy of Firefox, you'll note that the default search engine is not whatever you already have picked in all your other browsers. Instead, Mozilla chooses Firefox's default search engine, and the list of search providers in the accompanying drop down menu, based on their popularity. Thus, Bing isn't one of the choices.
