You need a streaming solution not an extension

October 23, 2003 by Nick Riotor

The reason your mpg is not streaming is because it has no streaming server. Nothing to do with an extension. Just like for a real file or wmv file, if you don't have a streaming server it will sort of stream via http: download what it can and play straight away or after the full download of it depending on your media player, os version, mime configuration...

So to solve your problem I would advice you to check help on streamming.

You can get that solution for mpg: http://www.videolan.org/

You can find other solutions for other media type, on their respective owners(quicktime, real, microsoft...)

Flash Video directly in DW

You can get the Macromedia Video Kit from Macromedia, it has Sorenson Squeeze to compress/convert video to Flash FLV format, and the player you setup easily in DW. Boom, done.
