How to build a News Article application in PHP/MySQL

There are many good News Article applications out there. But there are very few that allow for automated uploading of images that go with the articles! Perhaps a tutorial could be written that would detail how to build a nice News Article system? Or maybe an article on how to add this functionality to an existing GNU system? Maybe it could include how to use some of the UDZone extensions such as the Image Resizer or Image Upload...

There is a series of articles in the Premium Content section on uploading files to the server and on manipulating image data to resize them to proper dimensions.
