Is there a limit on the number of emails?
Question:
Are there any limitations on number of emails that can be sent? If I want to send a personalized message to 300 people, it is going to take some time for the server to process and complete. What kind of impact will this have on the server and IIS? Answer:
There is a timeout option on the user interface that allows you to enter longer time for processing.

We currently use the same process to send our newsletter to 70.000 people and it all goes very well. Takes of course a couple of hours but it gets done nicely!
About the server load - it all depends on the component you select to use. If you use the CDO or CDONTS then IIS is a bit more under heavy load but for couple of thousand mails it shouldn't be a problem.
For bigger bulk mails I woould suggest using ASPEmail with Smart Mailer. This component sends mails directly and do no pressure IIS at all.

not sure what to do
I read through the question/answer and did not find it helpful
I tried to send 400 emails and the script timed out.
I have previously sent 500 with no difficulty.
I don't know when it timed out and I don't know what to change the timeout to. It is currently at 300 the default
If I did change from CDO to ASPEmail how do I determine the settings for Server, User, Port and Pass?
RE: not sure what to do

to say we are up a creek without a paddle would be an understatement
