File management tutorial request
I am interested in developing an application that will basically manage files that users will upload. Users will have the opportunity to post their PDF files, Microsoft Word files, and any other file.
I am interested in learning how to post the files to a folder on the site, and pass a) a filename collected in a form field and b) the URL that the stored file will have.
I intend to have a form collecting a title, description, and a file upload field. On a search results page, I would like to list the title, and make that title a link with the absolute URL (or relative URL, for that matter).
I saw the PureASP Upload package. I don't know if that's more than I need, or if it's even right for my application. But more importantly, I think it would be more valuable for me to be put on the right track with how this is done, rather than downloading someone else's work.
Thanks for your help, and for being patient with someone who's still very amateurish.

Step by step directions
I think the Pure ASP Upload extension and File Genie extension can help you along.
With the Pure ASP Upload extension you can create a file upload application where users can browse for the file on their computer and upload it to a folder you specified in the extension. You can control which files can be uploaded and the maximum sixe allowed.
The File Genie extension will let you display all the files in the folder in an organized way and you can create links to the files.
The extensions come with tutorials walking you through every step of the way and the FAQ sections for these extensions and forums will provide you with more info.
