Gap to the right of the content in horizontal scroller
Question:
There's a gap to the right of the content of my horizontal scroller. Therefore it seems that I can scroll further to the right, while in fact there’s nothing there anymore.
There's a gap to the right of the content of my horizontal scroller. Therefore it seems that I can scroll further to the right, while in fact there’s nothing there anymore.
Answer:
In contrast with vertical scrollers, where leaving the ‘height’ attribute for the content layer unset makes it collapse/extend vertically to fit its content, that isn’t the case for the content layer in a horizontal scroller in all browsers.
Leaving the ‘width’ attribute for the content layer unset causes e.g. Netscape 6+ to cut the content to the visible width of its container, thus making scrolling impossible.
Therefore, when using Scroller Genie to insert a horizontal scroller in the page, Scroller Genie sets a default width value of 2000px for the scrolling content layer.
Adjusting this default width to better fit your content should solve the ‘gap’ issue.
