export text layers to a .TXT file
I have looked on every site I can find that deals with Fireworks and Dreamweaver extensions, and I can't find anything close to what I'm looking for. None of the graphic programs seem to let you export text separately. I am a UI writer and I use Fireworks and PhotoShop to design UI and create text for the UI. The ability to separate text from graphics is indispensible. But there are many times when it would be really great to be able to export the text into a text file. For example, when we're ready to hand off feature screens to the developer, we have to a) have the developer type the text while looking at the screenshot, or b) retype the text ourselves so we can give it to the developer in .txt format, or c) select text boxes individually and copy/paste the text into Notepad. With UI design these days, it's essential to work in a visual medium, but no one makes it easy. So I ask, is it even possible to programatically find the text layers (we keep text in separate layer sets) and copy/paste the text into a text format? It would make life so much easier for many writers I know. But it may be low priority for you because it's probably not something others are dying to have. I had to ask anyway.
Take care, CTRL+C
