Sending additional data with the uploaded files

Add a form on your page

We'd like to add a form field on our page so we can use its value in DMXzone Server Connect for insert or update record steps or in the HTML5 Upload path field. In order to do that, open the insert menu (1) and select text field (2) from the form sub menu.

Change label and open DMXzone DropZone

This adds a text field on our page. Let's change its default label to "your name" (1). Now, click the dropzone (2) and open its settings (3).

Add new filed

In the extra data tab (1), you will find your text field, in the available data bindigs list, under form variables. Select it (2) and click add new field button (3). For our tutorial we call it "yourName" (4).

Assign the text field

Make sure to assign the text field value to it and click OK when you're done.

Synchronize the new field

Now, in the server connect panel, select globals (1) and click the synchronize button (2).

Save and preview

Your additional field appears in the POST variable list now. You can use it in any of your server action steps, like insert or update records, dynamic upload path, etc. That's how easy it is to send additional data, when uploading files with DMXzone DropZone add-on.
