InterAKT releases QuB (Query Builder) 1.0
Creating and managing SQL queries in an easier way was the goal when developing QuB. This goal is reached by provinding three important features:
- Centralizing the SQL queries in a single repository
- Providing a graphical interface for editing them
- Tight integration with Ultradev 4 (PHAkt and ImpAKT)
QuB functionalities are very similiar to the Microsoft Access Query Builder ones. By doing so InterAkt has created a tool that allows Access developers to easily upgrade from Access to a more powerful database as MySQL or PostgreSQL.

QuB feature list:
DHTML/JavaScript Only interface
Allow access to the Query Designer from any MSIE 6.0+ browser.
Ultradev integration for PHAkt and ImpAKT
Tight integration with Ultradev 4 allows you to use QuB as the primary recordset type in your dynamic PHP applications. Using the QuB recordset has a lot of advantages over the standard recordset types, especially because the edit possibilities are very powerful.
Support for various database servers
In the 1.0 version, QuB supports MySQL, PostgreSQL and Access 2000
Administrate your access databases remotely
It was never that easy to administrate an Access database over the Internet. Using QuB, query creation for Access is a piece of cake.
Visual Query Editing
Allow visual manipulation of tables in a diagram oriented way
Table relation management
Allow easy definition and editing of the relations between tables (LEFT/RIGHT/INNER JOIN)
Query results support
Presents the rows from the result of executing the generated query.
SQL optimized generation
From the visual view on the query, the optimal SQL query is generated, using a complex sorting algorithm for the tables that are included in the query
Table rows view
Double clicking on a table shows the table content in the lower frame of the interface
Contextual menus
Using Menus 2.0, contextual menus are present in the application, making visual editing a pleasure.
QuB is available at the InterAkt website for $99. Unfortunately InterAkt has not sent us a review copy so we can not say much about whether it's worth it's price or not.
You can find more on QuB here.
