Create a Knitted Argyle Text Effect Using Filter Forge

Create a realistic knitted angyle text effect with Photoshop

Photoshop plugins are great tools to help you save time and improve the quality of your work. In this tutorial, Rose will use Filter Forge to help create a knitted argyle text effect in Photoshop that you can use in your holiday illustrations. Let’s get started!

First, you need to download Filter Forge from the plugin’s website. Once you download it, run the installation file and that’s it! It will be added inside Photoshop under the Filter menu. Super easy to install. You might need to load the Contours used in some of the Layer Styles. Create a new 1280 x 1024 px document. Pick the Gradient Tool and click the Radial Gradient icon in the Options bar. Then, click the Gradient box to create the gradient. In the Gradient Editor, Add four color stops (by clicking right below the gradient bar to add each one). You can then select each stop by clicking it, and assign its Color and Location values.
