Siri Now Flirting with Older iPhones

The Irish iPhone hacker Steve Troughton-Smith posted a video of Siri running smoothly on an iPhone 4. The video appeared on an Apple tracking blog 9to5mac together with an interview where Steve Troughton-Smith tells that the hack is working on multiple devices, including Apple's fourth-generation iPod Touch. Earlier this month the hacker published another video where he showed the software installed, but unable to run queries on an iPhone 4.

In other words, there are some things going on behind the scenes that Apple won't like, and could very well move to block if a working hack takes off, but the key takeaway is that there are seemingly no hardware hurdles standing in the way.

As for when you could possibly get your hands on the hack, Troughton-Smith said he's not going to package it up for people with jailbroken iPhones to grab and install, and is leaving it up for others to do that.
