BlackBerry PlayBook Catching Up
PlayBook vs. iPad
Research in Motion have put together a video that compares the web browsing experience on their BlackBerry PlayBook and the Apple iPad. The video shows the PlayBook loading standard web pages more quickly than the iPad, as well as displaying Flash video while the iPad simply shows an error message.
BlackBerry PlayBook and iPad Comparision
On the video, RIM engineer Matthew quickly runs through a series of comparison tests with a PlayBook and iPad (running iOS 3.2.2), which demonstrate three things: the speed of the PlayBook Browser, its support for rich Adobe® Flash® content, and the performance of open web standards like HTML 5 on the PlayBook.
The video also shows off the on-screen keyboard for the PlayBook, which looks a lot better on a 7 inch display than the standard Android browser when scaled up to larger devices — although touch-typing is probably still easier on the iPad with its larger 10 inch screen.
