Facebook: Privacy Issues You May Not Think About
The Facebook privacy settings
Privacy issues have resurfaced with Facebook over the past few weeks, and Linda covers it all this week – including issues that have taken a back seat to the main Facebook privacy settings.
Conclusion
No matter which social media tool you use, you must determine the level of privacy you want and need for that tool. In the upcoming weeks, I'll conduct a little brainstorming to show how this level of privacy can either protect you or – if you want to be seen – how it can hurt you in the long run. The more complicated your social networking, the more work you'll need to put into your upgrades, privacy settings and more. So, between now and the next time we talk, think about the time you'd like to have back in your life, or about the time you can spend on your social networking...because you may want to make some cuts or additions that will move you to a more efficient and satisfactory realm.
Linda Goin
Linda Goin carries an A.A. in graphic design, a B.F.A. in visual communications with a minor in business and marketing and an M.A. in American History with a minor in the Reformation. While the latter degree doesn't seem to fit with the first two educational experiences, Linda used her 25-year design expertise on archaeological digs and in the study of material culture. Now she uses her education and experiences in social media experiments.
Accolades for her work include fifteen first-place Colorado Press Association awards, numerous fine art and graphic design awards, and interviews about content development with The Wall St. Journal, Chicago Tribune, Psychology Today, and L.A. Times.
