Connecting WordPress with Social Media II
more ways to make your blog totally social, with a list of 25 plugins for WP
Previously, Linda wrote about how to get started with connecting your WordPress (WP) blog with social media. In this article, she provides even more ways to make your blog totally social, with a list of 25 plugins for WP and more.
Social Media Friendly Templates
As a preface and warning to the few links listed below, I have not tried any of these templates. A good time to try out these templates is when you are beginning a blog. That said, it is easy, with WP's dashboard, to upload a template, try it out and delete it just as quickly without altering your database. That's the plus side to this experiment.
When you run across templates that you want to use, be sure to read all the comments if any are available. Many times, those comments can point to problems that have or have not been addressed. Also, do a search on the template name to see if you come up with any comments outside the template page to learn more about any given template before you upload it to your site.
1.Free Social Media Wordpress Themes: This site contains a number of themes that you may find attractive for your blog.
2.Thrilling Theme: This theme looks promising, as it includes a number of options that can help you bypass some plugins. Great idea for those who are not developers, but who want to make small modifications to alter the look, too.
3.WicketPixie: While this template sounds tempting, I think you can probably make any theme as attractive with plugins. In addition, this theme does not offer support.
Conclusion
There is no sense today in creating a blog without connecting to some sort of social media. That said, you might think about how you want to connect, and how that connectivity makes sense for you. One way to learn how you might do this is to create a map that you can follow and that can keep you in line in future changes you might make along the way.
In addition, you might realize that – despite the popularity of some social networking sites, those sites can change over time. Take, for instance, Ning – a formerly free social networking site that now charges for Web space. While this makes sense as a business model, it made for difficult decisions among some of that site's users. They will phase out free service in July this year.
As I mentioned previously, I'll cover some of these network possibilities in the next article, where I'll also provide you with some tools that you can use to help you make a marketing...I mean social media networking...plan for your WP blog.

Now she uses her education and experiences in social media experiments.
