Firefox gets GPU Acceleration!
The rendering times are bogglingly drastic.
What is the one thing that the amazing Mozilla Firefox browser lacks? GPU acceleration of course. That will soon be a thing of the past, and consumers with the latest 2GB Nvidia and cards will be pleased to know that Firefox will work faster and better with their monster cards.
Below are the benchmarks Schouten presented when he compared Direct2D rendering to Windows' Graphics Device Interface (GDI) rendering as tested on an Intel Core i7 920 system with an ATI Radeon HD 4850 GPU. And as you can see, the rendering times are bogglingly drastic.
